Dynamic Pullout
Study of interactions between soil layers & reinforcements such as geogrides stripes and other synthetic materials can be performed by Pullout apparatus. To reinforce walls, in order to define bonding length, Longitudinal and vertical distance, stripes thickness and other design factors & friction between soil and reinforced material are indispensable. Appling vertical overhead, expected consolidation, monotonic & cyclic tensile, displacement readings in various points and full scale test, are the most important features of Pullout apparatus.
To model and calculate safety factor in soil reinforcing by reinforcements such as steel or geosynthetics, evaluation of interaction between soil and reinforced element, is required. This can be done by dynamic pullout apparatus. In this method, soil layers and reinforced element compact alternatively and then with using air cushion the sample is loaded by overhead load. Afterwards, reinforcement strips are pulled-out by a controlled hydraulic jack, and the pullout strength defines considering vertical overhead and soil type. This apparatus has been produced in two scales. In the following table two different apparatuses with different sizes are presented.
