Dynamic Simple Shear
Dynamic simple shear apparatus has been designed to determine shear strength, stiffness and damping of soil samples & it is mostly used in researches. Soil static and dynamical parameters estimation, consolidation in oedometric condition, angle changes between main stresses and vertical axis & loading in plane strain state, are the most important capability of this apparatus. In dynamic simple shear it is possible to keep the volume or overhead constant during applying the shear to sample and because of this, performing simple shear test on dry soils are common and making sense among researchers and scientists. In this test sample consolidation condition is oedometric and performing the test in plane strain state, is possible. Other features that may added to the apparatus is soil vertical stiffness control. Soil vertical stiffness control in some tests such as Interface Element Testing is required. In the following table different types of produced apparatuses are compared. The differences are sample saturation capability & the number of loading directions.
Frequency (Hz) | Load Capacity (kN) | Saturation Facility | Unsaturated & Suction Control | Loading Directions | Model ID | App. Name |
